Buddhist Peace Fellowship tends to the sacred edge where spiritual practice — Buddhist and beyond — meets movement organizing, to cultivate true inner and outer peace.
Drawing on the traditions of engaged Buddhism, BPF strengthens the inherent connections between movement organizing and spiritual practice in three critical ways:
We offer spiritual support for people engaged in social, environmental, economic and healing justice movements;
We provide political education and leadership development for people who want to take their Buddhist practices “off the cushion;”
We foster a spiritually grounded community to build clarity, endurance, and kinship for compassionate action in the current political moment.
Our programs are guided by the leadership, voices, and priorities of Black, Indigenous, and Asian heritage Buddhists, and communities who share our values of racial justice, queer feminist values, and regenerative living economies.

"The Refuge Circles gave me community, alignment, and possibility. Even though so many of us didn't know each other and never even shared words, there was a sense of kinship. We had chosen to be here. Many faces or names showed up day after day to do the sacred work of touching in and reaching out - finding our hearts and calling our representatives. It was a deep felt-sense, even through virtual space.
Many of us have experienced disillusionment with Buddhist institutions and teachers who segregate the spiritual from the political, especially with regards to the genocide in Palestine. But we knew we could find refuge at Buddhist Peace Fellowship."
