Berkeley Japanese Peace Lantern Ceremony

Saturday, August 7, 2004, Berkeley, CA

59 years after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima (Aug. 6) and Nagasaki (Aug. 9)

Each August in Japan, people gather to float lanterns in remembrance of the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and all victims of war. Now this moving and beautiful tradition comes to the East Bay. Especially in these difficult times, the event provides a place to reaffirm our commitment to building a better future.
