SEEDS OF CHANGE
Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the atomic bombings of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Envision together a nuclear free world with music, a dinner rally and a candlelight march.
3 pm: Buddhist Peace Fellowship chapter meets in front of San Francisco Zen Center,
300 Page St @ Laguna to travel together to the rally in Livermore.
5 pm: Rally starts at William Payne Park, 5800 Patterson Pass Rd., Livermore, CA
In Japanese culture, the 60th birthday holds a particular cultural significance in celebrating long life. In this 60th year since the US atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the greatest gift to the hibakusha (survivors of the atomic bombings) and to the world would be to reaffirm life by immediately initiating negotiations for the elimination of nuclear weapons.
The San Francisco Chapter of Buddhist Peace Fellowship joins with Seeds of Change providing silent candlelight vigil and witness at the gates of the Livermore Nuclear Weapons Lab.
