Cahterine Cascade is a Zen priest who has led meditation groups in the Humboldt County Jail and at Pelican Bay State Prison for the last five years. She has been a hospice chaplain, a spiritual advisor to patients at a secure county psychiatric hospital, a special education teacher, a child and family therapist, volunteer coordinator for Habitat for Humanity, and administrator for the local Humane Society. 

Catherine currently lives and practices at Berkeley Zen Center. Catherine is the proud mother of two good men, and the smitten grandmother of two marvelous, adorable little boys.
