Job Opening: Gatherings Lead at BPF

Bittersweet news, friends: our amazing BPF Gatherings & Network Director, LiZhen Wang, has been offered an incredible opportunity to go to Thailand for some Block-Build-Be-style permaculture work. (More details below.)

We are thrilled for her, and we will miss her deeply! This means there's an opening to join the BPF staff team to begin this summer. If that's you or someone you know, please apply or circulate to the raddest spiritual-political magic makers in your life.

Job Description: BBB Gatherings Lead

This position has now been filled!

From LiZhen Wang, outgoing Gatherings Lead:

Dear BPF community,

I'm headed to Thailand!

I'm honored to have been invited to work with the Mae Tha community, a regenerative ecovillage that has (inspiringly) been able to beat back the debt trap of conventional monocropping and instead, revive traditional farming practices and protect their native forests. They're now a thriving cooperative of organic permaculture farmers, modeling this way of living and growing for others. Swoon.

I met the Mae Tha folks in January when I visited them with our friends at International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB). I've been inspired ever since, and now I'm heading there in September, in time for harvest season — to help build an heirloom seed bank and share community building practices. I'm honored for this opportunity to deepen my ecological practices and to be my full earth-loving, screens-averse self.

I'm also excited for this opportunity to celebrate and make space for new leadership at BPF! If the idea of working at BPF gives you an excited shiver (as it should, it's pretty dreamy) ... please apply!

Working at BPF for the past three years has been healing, and it has given me a big dose of verified faith that the world I dream of is already here, being built by many of us. BPF does incredible, soulful work that I am so glad exists in our world, and I look forward to continuing to be a supporter — both in challenging and nurturing the work.

Thank you for your deep and kind spiritual friendship. As the dharma teaches, the me that I am is made up of all of you.

your comrade in the dharma,

LiZhen
